The ACCURACY TARGET is a design by Rick Jones from fun with knives.com. It focuses on developing accuracy at different parts of the target. It works great for knife throwing, archery, handgun and rifle shooting. You will need to set up the target at the appropriate distance for your desired activity. There is no bullseye on the accuracy target. You need points to win games on this target. The game you are playing or the number of points you need will determine what you are aiming at. You are either out or you are in. Close will not help you. The large number in the circle is the target number. The small number is the point value or the dollar value depending on the game you are playing. When using this for knife throwing remember, the knife cannot over rotate or under rotate into your favor because your distancing is off. Pull the knife down so it is perpendicular and see where the point is. Some part of the blade must be in the circle to count. Not just touching the line, that does not count. The same applies to archery and shooting. There are three dots, each one is a different color. Red dot = 40 points. blue dot =50 points and black dot =60 points. Remember, some of the games require you to verbally call out the number you are aiming at before you shoot or throw. Think of it like billiards, call your shot, it either goes in or it does not go in. Slop shots do not count. This target comes in 3 editions. Beginner, regular and pro. It keeps thing challenging for everyone. Good for intermediate to advance to competitive throwers. Knife throwers, archers and shooters will all benefit from this target and the target will physically last longer because of all the different points you will be aiming at. Keep it fun and also keep it challenging. WARNING!! This target can be addictive. Quitting cold turkey will not help. You must win these games and conquer this target. Good luck!!
18 KNIVES
You will have a total of 18 knives to hit 11 targets. Starting with the #15. Continue to aim at the #15 until you hit it. Then move to the #14 and continue to aim for it until you hit it. Continue that down the scale till you hit the #5. If you have not hit the #9 within12 throws then you are out of the game. If you can get to the #9 within 12 throws (or hopefully beyond) you will get 6 more knives to get to the #5. If you miss your target number you may not touch the knife or move it in any way to facilitate making it easier for your next throw. If the missed knives are in the way, then that's too bad, you will have to throw around them. Yes, that does make the game harder so try not to miss. This is not an issue with archery and shooting but remember line shots do not count. Some part of the arrow or bullet hole must be within the circle.
THE DOWNWARD SPIRAL
Start at the #15. Regardless of what happens you always aim at the next number down until you get to the black dot. 1 shot per number. 18 targets total. Add up your successful hits. 100 points or more, you win. Fast paced game.
THE DOT GAME
You have 6 knives or arrows or shots. You are aiming at the 3 colored dots starting with the red dot then the blue dot and finally the black dot. 1 attempt per dot then repeat again. The goal is round by round to see who can get the closest overall to all 3 dots. Consistency is the key.
KING OF THE MOUNTAIN
The goal is to get as many points with 6 knives as you can. Pretty straight forward. Depending on the skill level of the participants this can get really competitive. This is a timed event and YOU MUST CALL ALL OF YOUR SHOTS OR THEY DO NOT COUNT. If you successfully hit your number then that number is closed for you until it’s your turn again. Call another number. You can aim for it as many times as you want until you hit it, then that
number is closed off until it’s your turn again. If you call a number and miss and want to aim again at the same number then you do not have to call it again until you switch to another number. In this game there is no tie. To win you must go at least 5 points higher than the current leader. The higher the score gets the more it forces you aim at smaller targets to get a higher score. EXAMPLE: Joe threw 6 knives and got 50 points. Now the only thing that matters is to get 55 or more points to knock Joe off and become the new top dog. It was my turn and I just threw a score of 65 points so Joes score does not matter anymore. The only thing that matters now is to get a score of 70 or more to be the new top dog. This is also a gambling game. Those points turn to dollars in that case. It turns out Casey got the high score of 75 points tonight so everyone in the tournament owes Casey $75. Since its timed you want to have enough targets available. No more than 4 to 5 people per targets. Each target should be exactly the same. Each =target should be exactly the same. There is nothing to write down score wise. Just focus on dethroning the top dog and topping their score. If you get really desperate you can aim at the colored dots also.
100 WIN OR LOSE
20= easy
30/40 = intermediate
50 = advanced
6 knives
Like a video game set your desired skill level. Let’s say I select advanced level. I now have to score 50 points just to break even. Anything over 50 points is a plus. Anything under 50 points is a minus. After your six throws add up your score. EXAMPLE: I just threw 6 knives and scored 60 points; therefore, I came out ahead +10 points. Likewise, if I only scored 30 points total then I actually lost 20 points and my score would be – 20points. If you can climb to +100 points you win. If you fall to – 100 points then you lose. If there are multiple competitors involved then you are out of the tournament. Everyone will do the same number of throws, first person to attain + 100 points wins. Remember, like KING OF THE MOUNTAIN, you must call all of your shots. If you hit your called number then that number is closed until it’s your turn again. When it’s your turn and you add up your total, you must start from where you left off. EXAMPLE: My score was -20 but this time I scored + 30 so my new score is + 10. So that’s how the scoring works. You will most likely need a scoreboard for this game. Like a treadmill, if you slow down you will fall of the edge.
THE GAME OF KNIFE
This game is essentially like HORSE in basketball. I call a number and if I hit it then you must also hit it, otherwise you get a letter. This continues until I miss, then it’s your turn. If you hit your called number then I must also hit that same number or I get a letter. The first person to spell out the word KNIFE loses the game. If you’re shooting then the name of the game is RIFLE, or maybe GLOCK or something.
